Children & Adolescents

Play Therapy
Play therapy allows your child a safe space in which they can freely express their thoughts, feelings and behavious in their naturual language: play. Your child will learn to communicate and explore their feelings with  confidence, improve their self esteem, strengthen their resilience,  and grow at their own pace. There are many reasons a child may benefit from play therapy:
- new siblings
-divorce
-change of environment 
-bullying
-educational difficulties
-loss of a family member 
-parental emotional struggles


Adolescent Therapy
Talk therapy allows your teen a space to safely explore and express the many complex experiences and emotions that accompany the teenage experience. Therapy will support your teen to feel accepted and acknowledged, regulate their emotions, improve their self-confidence and learn to manage challenging experiences more effectively. Possible reasons a teenager might benefit from therapy include:
-peer pressure
-relationships
-divorce and turmoil in the family,
-loss
-sexuality issues
-substance abuse
-acting out
-self-harm
-anxiety
-depression

Psycho-Educational Assessments



An educational psychologist may conduct an assessment when your child is showing signs of difficulty with educational factors such as reading, writing, spelling, mathematics, motor and perceptual concerns amongst others. This process is a useful way to gain insight into the root of your child's concerns, as well as necessary steps that may need to be taken to support their scholastic functioning.

Parenting can be a complex experience for many people. At times you may find it difficult to understand what your child needs from you in order to develop into a secure and happy child. The Circle of Security 8 week Parenting Program can help you to:
1. Understand your child's emotional world by learning to read their emotional needs
2. Support your child's ability to successfully manage their emotions
3. Enhance the development of your child's self-esteem
4. Help your child to become a secure and confident individual
Parent-Infant Psychotherapy


Becoming the parent of a new baby is a wonderful time of excitement and joy. However, this experience is often accompanied by difficult feelings that can be difficult to express to those around us, out of fear of being judged or ridiculed. Parent-Infant psychotherapy provides a supportive place to explore these challenges and deepen your understanding of yourselves as parents and your new baby.

Fees

This practice operates allows both cash and medical aid payments. The following payment options are available to clients:

1. Cash payments
2. Cash payments with the provision of a receipt to claim back from medical aids
3. The practice submits claims directly to medical aid on behalf of client

*Please note that Medihelp, Profmed & GEMS currently do not cover Educational Psychologists. Please enquire with your scheme to ensure good standing*

Therapy & Consultations: R790 per hour
Psycho-Educational Assessments: R4725 (inclusive of consultations, testing & feedback)
Circle of Security 8 Week Parenting Program: R2800 per person (R350 per week)
                                                                                     R5000 per couple (R625 per week)
